Work Environment at NEX-ICON We are an earlystage product company building world class communication and collaboration products. These products are platform agnostic and offer a seamless, end to end user experience. This requires some very sound engineering and innovative thinking. Our love for technology ensures that we work with the best of the tools available - be it the web, mobile or the desktop. We work across platforms and technologies to create the best possible experience companies like ours, we are aware of the pitfalls trying to add too much structure or keeping it too flexible. Hence, what we have now is a blend of our learning and conventional wisdom in product management. As far as jargon goes, we are using a mixture of both SCRUM and Extreme Programming. Both are agile development methodologies suited for our needs. We use Trac for ultra light-weight project management. As a company we use more than a dozen software technologies including Ruby on Rails, Java, C++, MySQL, J2ME, Symbian, Windows Mobile, BREW, Ajax, JavaScript, HTML/CSS, J2EE,ROR,Flash,Flex etc. We debate (requirements), we paint (design), we scribble (code), we break (testfor the user. The MangoSpring team is what experts call an "agile" team, with emphasis on "hands on" work and no "middle management" to slow things down.

Our Happiness Manager (yes we have one!) ensures that both sides of our brain are well satiated, and the kid in us is happy.

NEX-ICON  has a truly unique environment where we have fun, work hard, and feel like we create amazing things for an amazing company. Fun Activities/Outings Happiness, like laughter, is contagious. There's enough ammunition (foosball, xbox, Saturday cricket matches) to break the monotony and to fill up the "breaks". Not to mention Kite flying, birthdays and more fun activities. Activities Involving the grey matter "Pathshala" (Hindi for school) sessions and Friday Brownbags are a regular affair at NEX-ICON. Typically held outdoors on our very own terrace or at 'ThinkPad'over pizza. Balance We believe that maintaining a "Happy State" takes BALANCE – it goes this way and then that… before it finally reaches equilibrium. We believe a healthy body (read as keep pantry stocked with good food), mind (flexi timings etc) and soul (happiness and positivity) helps us keep a healthy balance.
